British Citizenship

There are many different routes to obtaining British nationality and our immigration. As each application will depend on your personal circumstances, please contact us so that we can provide you with advice and guidance for your citizenship application.  We will guide you on which route may apply in your circumstances.

If you are on a visa which leads to settlement after 5 or 6 years in the UK, you will be eligible for citizenship through naturalisation.

Ancestry Visa

If you are a citizen of a Commonwealth country and one of you grandparents was born in the UK, you may be eligible for a five year UK Ancestry Visa.  This will allow you to live, work and study in the UK.  After 5 years, you an either apply for a renewal or apply for indefinite leave to remain. UK Spouse Visa

The UK Spouse Visa is for married partners of British or Irish citizens, persons who are settled in the UK, persons with pre-settled status, persons with a Turkish Businessperson or a  Turkish Worker visa who wish to join, or stay with, their husband or wife, or long term partner in the UK.  You can also apply for a UK Spouse Visa if your Spouse is outside the UK, but is intending to return to the UK with you.

Indefinite Leave to Remain

Indefinite leave to remain is how you settle in the UK. It’s also called ‘settlement’. It gives you the right to live, work and study here for as long as you like, and apply for benefits if you’re eligible. You can use it to apply for British citizenship.

There are different ways to apply for indefinite leave to remain based on your circumstances.

Global Talent Visa

The Global Talent route is for people above 18 years old and prove that they have exceptional talent or exceptional promise.  This should be in the science, engineering, humanities, medicine, digital technology or arts and culture.

Individuals can apply for a Global Talent visa once their expertise has been verified by one of the following endorsing bodies:

Under this visa category, the Home Office has confirmed that once applicants are endorsed, subject to criminality and immigration checks, migrants are given a highly flexible permission. This enables them to:

  • work for employers or be self-employed;
  • change jobs without informing the Home Office;
  • travel abroad and return to the UK for research purposes; and
  • bring dependents with them.

Global Talent Visa: Digital Technology

We will assist talented and promising individuals who have exceptional technical or business skills in the digital technology sector navigate the digital technology application under the Global Talent Visa route. We will also work with the applicant and Tech Nation, who is the endorsing body, determine that applicants are leaders in their field, or have the potential to be leaders.

Applicants must show that they have been recognised as a leading talent in the digital technology sector. Other criteria include but is not limited to:

  • Having a proven track record for innovation as a founder or senior executive of a product-led digital technology company or as an employee working on a new digital field or concept;
  • Having recognition for work that contributes to the advancement of the field;
  • Having made significant technical, commercial, or entrepreneurial contributions in the field as either a founder, senior executive or employee of a product-led digital technology company;
  • Demonstrated exceptional aptitude and skill in the field by making academic contributions through research published or otherwise endorsed by an expert.

Examples of innovation and exceptional ability in this field must be provided to and approved by Tech Nation. You will also be required to provide letters of recommendation in support of your digital technology endorsement application. These letter must be from different, well-established organisations who are recognised as experts in the digital technology field. They should describe your professional relationship with you, your achievements, how you have shown your exceptional talent or exceptional promise, the contribution you will make to the UK digital technology sector.  You will also be required to outline your future plans, and the benefit you would receive from living in the UK.

We will provide you guidance on the requirements by Tech Nation. Global Talent visa applications must be submitted within three months from the date of the endorsement letter. Depending on your visa status, you can submit your application from within the UK, although most applications are made from your home country.

Once approved, your visa will be issued for the period that you request (in full year periods) up to five years.  Applicants can be eligible for Settlement under this visa route as long as they meet the residency requirements. The Global Talent visa allows you to work and change employers, or be self-employed, without the need for further authorisation or to be sponsored for employment in a specific post. Dependants are allowed subject to requirements.

There is no maintenance or English language requirement in this Global Talent visa category. You will be required to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge for the period of your visa.

Graduate Visa Route

If you are graduating this academic year, you can apply to extend your stay in the UK under the Graduate Route.  This visa allows successful applicants to remain in the UK to live or work for an additional 2 years. Students awarded doctorates will be able to stay for 3 years under this Graduate  route.  If you find employment during this period, you can switch your visa status to the Skilled Worker Route. The Home Office has made allowances for students who have been distance learning.

We provide full visa assistance and will manage the preparation and filing process for your application under this route.

Tier 4 Student services

As a student, your decision as to where you wish to study and what course you choose will have an enormous impact on your future, so it’s crucial that you get it right from the beginning. If you’re travelling to a new culture in another part of the world, you want to be able to concentrate on studying and building friendships without having to worry about the bureaucracy of immigration rules.

We provide full visa assistance and manage the preparation and filing process for initial and extension applications for international students.

We work closely with experts in Education Services in the UK and around the world who will assist you in ensuring you meet the requirements for entry to primary, secondary or universities in the UK.

Settlement

Subject to qualifying, individuals and families can apply to settle once they have completed the required period of residence. Under most employment or family immigration categories, it is possible to apply to settle permanently in the UK on completion of five years’ residency. But there are varying rules and criteria of documentary requirements in place depending on the circumstance of the case.

This is the status which gives you complete freedom from immigration control.*

To apply for it, you will need to have lived in the UK continuously and lawfully for a specified duration of time, normally for 5 years or 10 years depending on your status. Settlement is otherwise known as Indefinite Leave to Remain (“ILR”)
