This visa is available for High Net Worth individuals and overseas nationals who would like to settle in the UK and have £2 million to invest in share capital of active and trading UK companies.
These companies must be:
- registered with Companies House in the UK.
- registered with HMRC for corporation tax and PAYE.
- Hold accounts and UK business bank account showing regular trading.
- Have at least two UK employees who are not directors.
To qualify for this visa, you must also demonstrate that:
- the £2 million belongs either to you, your spouse or civil partner.
- you have a UK bank account.
- these funds must be readily available and held in one or more regulated financial institutions.
- you have met all the required due diligence checks and Know Your Customer checks.
- you are over 18 years of age.

VISA DURATION
Once you have successfully invested your funds and your visa has been approved, you will be able to live and work in the UK for three years and four months. You will then be required to extend your visa for another 2 years and ensure that you meet the additional criteria. This process will take a total of 5 years and can be reduced by increasing your investment amount to £5 million and £10 million. This will allow you to apply for settlement after three and two years respectively.
INDEFINITE LEAVE TO REMAIN
After living in the UK for five years on this visa, you will be eligible for permanent residency which is also known as Indefinite Leave to remain (ILR). After holding ILR for 12 months, you can apply to be naturalised as a British citizen. Once you are a citizen you may apply for a British passport.
